Everything you need from a transcription service

Online transcription is only the start. Everything here is built around what comes after: editing, understanding, exporting and sharing.

AnnaOkay, let's get started. Today we need to agree on the launch plan for the transcription feature.

TomSure. From the engineering side, the upload flow and the editor are ready. What's left is the export to DOCX and PDF.

PriyaMarketing-wise we want the landing page live two weeks before launch, so the SEO pages have time to get indexed.

AnnaThat's fine. I'd suggest we publish the English blog first and then add German and French during the first month.

  • Editor that follows the audio

Words light up as the audio plays. Click any word to jump there. Edit text in place, fix speaker names once for the whole file.

  • Speakers and timestamps

Automatic speaker labels, paragraph breaks and clean punctuation. Rename or merge speakers in one click.

  • Summary, chapters, key points

After the AI transcription, a second AI pass turns a long recording into a summary, a chapter list with timecodes, decisions and action items.

  • Translate the transcript

Translate text or subtitles into other languages and export them side by side.

  • Export in every format

TXT, DOCX, PDF, Markdown, SRT, VTT, CSV and JSON. Chapters export as YouTube timecodes, and the free subtitle converter turns VTT to SRT right in the browser.

  • Record from the microphone

Dictate notes or record an interview straight in the browser — no app needed.

Frequently asked questions

Which file formats can I transcribe?

Audio: MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, FLAC, OGG, Opus, WMA, AIFF. Video: MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI, MPEG. You can also paste a YouTube or direct media link.

How accurate is the transcription?

It depends on audio quality, language and the provider you choose. Clear speech in a major European language usually needs only light proofreading; noisy rooms, heavy accents and overlapping speakers need more. Custom vocabulary and the editor make fixing names fast.

Which languages are supported?

Transcription in 98+ languages including English, German, French, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Italian, Dutch and Portuguese. The interface is available in 25 languages.

Can I use Windows speech to text instead?

Windows speech to text (Windows key + H) types what you say into the text field you are in, which is handy for short notes. It cannot transcribe a recording you already have. For audio and video files, open Audiotexta in any browser on Windows and upload the file.

What happens to my data?

Files and transcripts are kept only as long as you choose. You can delete a file at any time or set automatic deletion. We never use your content to train models.

Can I try it without an account?

Yes. Upload a file up to 30 minutes, read the transcript and download TXT, SRT or VTT without signing up. An account keeps your history across devices; DOCX and PDF export, translation, AI summaries and the API are part of Pro.

Does the browser extension record meetings?

It captures the audio of the current tab (Google Meet, Zoom Web, YouTube and others) and your microphone, shows live captions in a side panel and can save the transcript to your library. Always inform participants before recording.

Is there an API?

Yes. Pro and Team plans include an API key. The endpoints and a TypeScript client are documented in the repository.
